Five ways to work with CWV
Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute call and a one-page proposal with numbered deliverables, so you know exactly what you are buying before you sign. Research, analysis and drafts are AI-built and reviewed by a person who has run the function.
Also available as four-to-six-week projects: due diligence, knowledge transfer and market studies. Ask about a project.
Point of view
The useful version and the flattering version of a deliverable are not the same document. You get the useful one.
Process
Scope you can trace from proposal to delivery
The same deliverable numbers follow the work through the proposal, the agreement, the invoice and the cover memo, so nobody has to ask what was promised.
01Week 0
Discovery and proposal
Thirty minutes on what is actually happening. Then a proposal in your words, with the fee, the timeline and what is out of scope.
02Week 1
Signature and kickoff
Half the fee on signature starts the clock. One point of contact, one kickoff session, a written recap within a day.
03Weeks 2–5
Drafts, early
You see the first deliverable before the last one is started, so direction can change while it is still cheap.
04Delivery
Walkthrough and follow-up
Written deliverables, a cover memo mapping each to scope, a walkthrough, and thirty days of email questions. Balance on delivery.

AI marketing system
An agent swarm that runs search visibility for an AI company
Built on Paperclip: a team of AI agents that handles answer-engine optimization so the product shows up when buyers ask AI assistants, runs the backlink program, and generates pages to cover the long tail of search intent. Now a CWV offering.

About
Clayton Viergever

4–6Weeks, typical engagement

“I would rather hand you the document that changes your decision than the one that makes you feel good about it.”
Clayton has spent her career on the growth side of businesses: marketing strategy, business development, Salesforce and the dashboards that keep it honest, paid search, content, and search visibility in the age of AI answers. She started CWV Consulting to bring that experience to owners who need senior judgment without a senior payroll.
She has rebuilt how the work gets done, using AI tooling to compress research and drafting from weeks to days, with every conclusion reviewed and signed by a person who has run the function. Clients get the speed; the judgment stays human.
Questions
What owners ask before the first call
What does CWV Consulting do?
CWV Consulting is a boutique consultancy in San Diego, led by Clayton Viergever, that helps owners of growing businesses with marketing and business-development strategy. It offers a fractional COO, a fractional CMO, answer-engine optimization (AEO) and AI search visibility, CRM and sales automation, and go-to-market and pricing strategy, with AI-built deliverables reviewed by an experienced operator.
What is a fractional marketing or business-development leader?
A fractional leader is a senior operator who works in your business a few days a month instead of full time. With CWV that covers pipeline, positioning, channel mix, a weekly scoreboard, and deciding which hires you actually need next, on a monthly retainer with a three-month minimum.
How much does CWV Consulting cost?
Pricing depends on scope, so every engagement is quoted in a one-page proposal after a free 30-minute call. Fractional COO and CMO work is a monthly retainer with a three-month minimum; project engagements run four to six weeks with half the fee due on signature and half on delivery. The fee in the proposal is the fee you pay.
What is answer-engine optimization (AEO)?
Answer-engine optimization is the work of making a business show up when buyers ask AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews for a recommendation. CWV runs an AI agent system that handles AEO, a backlink program and long-tail page generation, and can run it for you or set it up for your team.
What does “AI-built deliverables” mean? Is the work just AI output?
No. Research, analysis and first drafts are produced with current AI tooling, which compresses weeks of work into days. Every conclusion is then reviewed and signed by a person who has run the function, so clients get the speed while the judgment stays human.
How long does an engagement take?
A typical project engagement takes four to six weeks: discovery and proposal in week 0, signature and kickoff in week 1, drafts in weeks 2 to 5, then delivery with a walkthrough. You see the first deliverable before the last one is started.
Do you work with businesses outside San Diego?
Yes. CWV Consulting is based in San Diego, California and works remotely with clients anywhere in the United States.
What happens after delivery?
You receive the written deliverables, a cover memo mapping each one to the agreed scope, a walkthrough session, and thirty days of follow-up questions by email. The balance of the fee is due on delivery.
